We collect information you provide directly when you create an account, build a resume, or contact support. This includes your name, email address, profile information, work history, education, skills, and any content you upload or generate within the platform.

We also automatically collect certain technical data: your IP address, browser type, device information, and usage patterns (pages visited, features used, session duration). This helps us improve the product and diagnose issues.

Your resume data is used exclusively to provide the service you signed up for: generating, editing, formatting, and exporting resumes and cover letters. We do not train AI models on your personal data or resume content.

We use aggregated, anonymized usage data to improve templates, optimize ATS compatibility, and develop new features. This data can never be traced back to you.

Your data is encrypted at rest and in transit using industry-standard protocols (TLS 1.3, AES-256). We use SOC 2-compliant infrastructure providers and conduct regular security audits.

You can delete your account and all associated data at any time from your account settings. Deletion is permanent and irreversible within 30 days of request.

We integrate with Clerk for authentication and Stripe for payment processing. These services process your data under their own privacy policies. We do not sell or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.

When you import data from other platforms, that data is processed temporarily and stored only as part of your resume content. We do not retain the import source data beyond the import session.

We use essential cookies for authentication and session management. Theme preference is stored in localStorage on your device. We do not use tracking cookies or third-party analytics that require consent under GDPR.

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or port your data. You may also withdraw consent for data processing at any time. To exercise these rights, contact us at privacy@builder.example.com.

We may update this policy as our service evolves. Material changes will be announced via email or in-product notification. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
